Linux Kernel Curiosities
Do you like this story?

We know that Linux is a completely free operating system and more stable than other proprietary operating systems. Based on the Kernel , we have developed thousands of distributions that have Adapted to each of the specific needs of its users. And from this kernel, we have some curiosities:
- Only 2% of the Linux kernel code originally written by Linus Tordvalds remains in current versions.
- Linux has approximately 9.2 million lines of code that are increased by 10% annually.
- The kernel itself is 5% of the total, and the drivers (drivers) occupy about 55%.
- 4,500 lines are added, removed 1,800 and 1,500 changed every day.
- It is a hierarchical system that does not depend on individuals.
- Exits a version every 2 or 3 months.
- Security updates for each version are numbered as XXX, for example, corrections for 2.6.19 are renumbered as 2.6.19.1, 2.6.19.2, etc.
- The Linux kernel is developed continuously, ie 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Some of this information was read Geek Group .
