What software installed after formatting?

format the PC in my home (for family use) because it was very slow Windows XP partition, my dear openSUSE was as fast as the day I installed it. Once reinstalled Windows XP, I saw the need to install any software also required in these cases. Come on, all basic software PC must have to meet basic needs.
If necessary, and always based around the software that I installed on my computer, taking into account that uses all my family, these are my recommendations necessary software after formatting your computer:
- A good antivirus . If you have enough to buy a license of Kaspersky or NOD32 , either one is pretty good. If not, you can always use Avast! Home , which is free and does not envy anything in the first two.
- Parcel Office . This is where the famous plays install Microsoft Office , it is right to purchase the license, but you can always choose to download it from Internet-with its own serial
- Or, the option I recommend if you do not like piracy but neither have sufficient funds: OpenOffice.org , as fully functional as MS Office and of course that is compatible with their formats. - Audio Player . The Windows Media Player is a good player, but very heavy and consume excess resources. In this case it is a good lightweight audio player, as AIMP . And if you want more options for your music, Songbird is for you.
- Video Player . For the same reasons as mentioned above, we find a good replacement for the Windows Media Player. And here is the number one choice VLC Media Player , which plays any video file without the need to install codecs.
- Compressor / decompressor files . If you or someone in your family likes web downloads, probably going to need one of these. I highly recommend 7-Zip , which supports the most common formats, such as RAR or ZIP, in addition to its own format: 7Z.
- Instant Messaging . Here there are many alternatives, Windows Live Messenger is the king and it is almost essential to have it, but if you have Gmail account, You Might LikeGoogle Talk . Now, if you do not like WLM or is very slow, there is always the option of Free Software: Pidgin , which supports a lot of IM protocols, from MSN and Gtalk to Jabber.
- Web Browser . Of course, we will not use a browser so ugly and pernicious as it is Internet Explorer. So option number 1 is Mozilla Firefox , the web browser that you meet the standards of navigation and is 100% customizable with thousands of plugins.
- System Maintenance . Ok, not the whole family is going to use but it is Windows, so maintenance is a must go if or if. The choice here is CCleaner , a wonderful software that will help you remove all unnecessary junk from your computer.
Basically, and at least in my opinion, this is all the basic software that a PC must have. This also depends and varies greatly depending on the use you are going to give the PC, but always remember: functionality first.
